About Buckshot Lake Camp
Buckshot Lake Camp is situated on a 1200-foot natural sand beach on and Buckshot Lake, a natural Canadian shield lake in the heart of Ontario. The camp has 5 modern housekeeping cottages for weekly rental, all right on the beach with a magnificent lake view. The camp owners, the Knight family, have operated Buckshot Lake Camp for summer rentals since 1979. Buckshot Lake Camp has been in operation since 1950. Most of our renters return each year for the great fishing, swimming, boating, and hiking they enjoy in the Canadian woods. Children and parents love the beach, where there is a very gradual slope with no sudden drop-offs.
Each cottage is fully equipped with screen porch electric stove, refrigerator, hot water heater, built in space heater, and indoor plumbing, including a shower. Each cottage includes dishes, pots and pans, silverware, and cups. Blankets and pillows for each bed are also provided. You need only bring your bed linen, clothes, toiletries, and food for your stay. Free internet service is also available to all cottages.
For outside enjoyment, each cottage has a picnic table, ample wooden "Adirondack" beach chairs, and a fire pit. Firewood is provided for campfires. You can bring your own boat / motor (launch is ½ mile from the camp), or rent a boat from the camp. Dock space is provided for 1 large boat per cottage, although many prefer to pull their boats up on the beach.
We do not allow RVs , ATVs , Motorcycles , Tents allowed on premises without specific permission for owners. No Jet boats or Jet skis are allowed as well, to keep it quiet for our cottagers.
There are many hiking trails in the area, including a short trip to a small waterfall. There are also many other lakes to visit close by, either by taking your boat to the lake or bringing a canoe or similar car top boat. The owners have fished every lake within 50 miles, and will be glad to help you find good lakes for day trips.
Buckshot Lake is accessible by maintained, paved roads to within 100 yards of the camp. The small town of Plevna has a general store and gas station, where food, fishing licenses and daily newspapers can be purchased, and is only a 5-10 minute ride from the camp.
